Yesterday, we went on a hike to celebrate the first week of spring. We enjoyed the wildflowers, each other's company, and we followed the suggestion made by The Decemberists in this song. At the top of the mountain, we raised a glass to spring and enjoyed the rays of the sun.
People mockingly say that we don't have seasons here in San Diego where the weather forecast is often "in the 70s and sunny," but our lives do have seasons, and I am in favor of celebrating the seasons of life.
I look forward to this coming spring season filled with flowers, long days, and sunshine.
