Birthday reflections.

This is me on my birthday finding peace in the sun among the crashing waves.

While we were at Torrey Pines State Beach on my birthday, I did a little journaling. The changing of an an age and the passing of another year causes one to reflect on life a bit.

Here's what I wrote in my journal:

What I learned as a twenty-seven year old:
  • Don't set too many goals. Sometimes it leads to disappointment even when you try your best. Instead, just try your best.
  • Notice the little things in life. Seek and find joy in them.
  • Do what gives you purpose deep down in your heart. Even if sometimes you feel inadequate or like a failure doing it, it is what you are supposed to be doing.
  • Pour everything you have into the one you love even when it's hard.

We'll see what this next year holds. I think 28 will be a good age.
