Pretty Prague.

The striking beauty of the city provides an ironic contrast to the country's dark history. Taken over by Nazi fascism, only to be taken over by Soviet communism post WWII. Life was a struggle under both, but the people rose above. In 1989, thousands marched in the streets in what is now known as the nonviolent Velvet Revolution, forcing the communist leaders to resign.

Walking the streets of a place with so much history and beauty was wonderful.
Budget traveling always has its ups and downs, and in Prague it was a pleasant surprise. We had our best place to stay yet for the least expensive price since Morocco, and the host stocks the small apartment with six Czech beers for every guest who stays there. A nice touch, indeed.

  1. So, no one told me you were blogging here until yesterday. I am just discovering that your whole journey has documented beautifully... our friends are lame.

I miss you and your husband and can't wait to see you!
